Ingredients
- Malaysian Palm Oil, for frying
Steak:
- ½ cup onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ kg minced beef
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Gravy:
- ½ cup onion, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic, chopped
- 150 g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tsp mustard
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup water
Directions
To prepare the Steak :
- In a bowl, add onion and breadcrumbs. Mix well and set aside for few minutes.
- Add in minced beef, Worcestershire sauce, egg, mustard powder, garlic powder, beef bouillon cube, tomato ketchup, salt, and pepper. Knead them well.
- Divide the beef, and form 5-6 patties.
- In a pan, heat Malaysian Palm Oil on high heat, and cook the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side.
To prepare the gravy :
- Heat Malaysian Palm Oil, and stir-fry onion and garlic. Add mushrooms, and cook until slightly brown.
- Add margarine, and wait until it melts, before adding all-purpose flour. Cook for 30 seconds with constant stirring.
- Gradually, add beef broth. Keep stirring while adding the broth to keep it lump-free.
- Add in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix them well, and moderately add some water while stirring.
- Put in the cooked steaks into the gravy, and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes.
- Let them simmer for few minutes and ready to serve.
