Homemade Peanut Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shelled peanuts
  • 3/4 cup palm shortening
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Blend peanuts in a food processor until  smooth.
  2. Heat palm shortening, sugar, and salt in a saucepan, over medium-low heat.
  3. Stir in the ground peanuts and mix well to avoid lumpiness. If mixture is too thick, add more palm shortening.
  4. Leave to cool for about 2 hours. Makes approximately 2 1/2 – 3 cups
